Tommy Thompson Park - 2021 - Toronto, Ontario

Tommy Thompson Park project is the new front door to the park that is welcoming, engaging and ecologically sensitive to its context. The design demonstrates best practices in low impact development by establishing a design that is integrated into its natural setting, structured with landscaped berms and bioswales to support storm-water management, habitat expansion and visual screening strategies. The entrance pavilion, with public washrooms as well as storage/office space to support on-site educational programming, and provides a generous sheltered outdoor area under a corten overhang roof. The exterior of the building is finished with a priority concrete chipping technique leaving a beveled surface.  Other elements of the park are: gabion baskets walls, bike racks, tree and shrub planting.
